معالي وزير المالية يترأس وفد المملكة في الاجتماع الـ122 للجنة التعاون المالي والاقتصادي لدول مجلس التعاون الخليجي

ترأس معالي وزير المالية الأستاذ محمد بن عبدالله الجدعان، وفد المملكة المشارك في الاجتماع الـ122 للجنة التعاون المالي والاقتصادي لدول مجلس التعاون لدول الخليج العربية، والذي عقد في مدينة الدوحة بدولة قطر اليوم الخميس 30 ربيع الأول 1446هـ الموافق 3 أكتوبر 2024م، بمشاركة أصحاب المعالي وزراء المالية بدول المجلس، ومعالي الأمين العام لمجلس التعاون لدول الخليج العربية.
واستعرض أصحاب المعالي والسعادة خلال الاجتماع عدداً من الموضوعات المتعلقة بتعزيز التعاون المالي والاقتصادي بين دول المجلس، كما اطلعت اللجنة على التوصيات المرفوعة لها من لجنة الوكلاء، والمستجدات التي يتم متابعتها من الأمانة العامة.
وعلى هامش الاجتماع شارك معالي الجدعان في الجلسة الأولى لمؤتمرمستقبل دول مجلس التعاون والتي حملت عنوان "صناعات المستقبل ونماذج التعاون"، إلى جانب كل من سعادة وزير المالية القطري الأستاذ علي الكواري، ومعالي وزير المالية والاقتصاد الوطني البحريني الشيخ سلمان بن خليفة آل خليفة، والمدير العام لصندوق النقد الدولي السيدة كريستاليناجورجيفا.
وخلال الجلسة أوضح الجدعان أن دول مجلس التعاون الخليجي تتشارك في الفرص والتحديات، "لذلك فإن التعاون الوثيق على الصعيدين المحلي والدولي يصب في مصلحة دول الخليج بشكل مباشر ويسهم في تحقيق أهدافها المشتركة، ويعزز من مكانتها العالمية".
كما شارك معاليه في الاجتماع المشترك بين وزراء المالية ومحافظي البنوك المركزية في دول مجلس التعاون مع المدير العام لصندوق النقد الدولي، للنقاش حول تقرير الآفاق الاقتصادية والتحديات السياسية التي تواجه مجلس التعاون الخليجي للعام 2024م الذي أصدره الصندوق.
وخلال الاجتماع قال معالي الوزير: "لكل دولة من دول المجلس التعاون الخليجي احتياجات وخطط اقتصادية مختلفة، لكننا جميعاً نواجه التحدي المشترك المتمثل في التخفيف من اعتمادنا على عائدات النفط، إذ نفذت المملكة العربية السعودية إصلاحات مالية في ظل رؤية 2030، تهدف إلىتنويع الاقتصاد و تقليل اعتمادنا على عائدات النفط، ويجري تنفيذ مبادرات مماثلة في جميع أنحاء مجلس التعاون الخليجي".
إلى ذلك، شارك الجدعان في اجتماع الطاولة المستديرة بعنوان "مستقبل صندوق النقد الدولي"، والذي يسلّط الضوء على مختلف المرئيات بشأن الإصلاحات التي يتعين على صندوق النقد الدولي تنفيذها لتعزيز التعاون الاقتصادي الدولي، بالإضافة إلى سبل تحسين الهيكل المالي والإداري للصندوق، وإصلاحات أطر الصندوق المتصلة بالنواحي الرقابية والإشرافية والإقراض وتنمية القدرات لتقديم الدعم الأمثل لأعضائه في المنطقة وبقية العالم، وتعزيز عملياته الداخلية.
وخلال الاجتماع سلّط الجدعان الضوء على التحديات التي تواجه الاقتصاد العالمي، ومنها زيادة التوترات الجيوسياسية، وتباطؤ النمو العالمي، منوهاً بالدور الذي يقوم به صندوق النقد الدولي بالتعاون مع المؤسسات المالية الأخرى لحشد التعاون الدولي متعدد الأطراف للتغلب على هذه التحديات.

Saudi Minister of Finance Heads Kingdom’s Delegation at 122nd Meeting of GCC Financial & Economic Cooperation Committee

His Excellency the Saudi Minister of Finance, Mr. Mohammed Aljadaan, headed the Kingdom of SaudiArabia's delegation participating in the 122nd meeting of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) Financial and Economic Cooperation Committee, held today, October 3, 2024, in Doha, Qatar.
with the participation of their excellencies the Ministers of Finance of GCC nations, as well as the Secretary- General of the GCC.
The participants discussed key issues related to strengthening financial and economic cooperation between GCC nations, while the Committee was informed of the recommendations from the GCC Undersecretaries of Ministries of Finance Committee, as well as the latest developments from the Secretariat General.
On the sideline of the meeting, Minister Aljadaanparticipated in the first session of the GCC Future Forumentitled "Industries of the future and models of cooperation", in the presence of the Qatari Minister of Finance Mr. Ali Alkuwari, and the Minister of Finance and National Economy of the Kingdom of Bahrain, H.E. Shaikh Salman bin Khalifa Al Khalifa as well as the Managing Director of the International Monetary Fund Ms. Kristalina Georgieva.
During the session, Minister Aljadaan said that the GCCnations share the same opportunities and challenges, "so close cooperation at the domestic and international levels is in the GCC members’ best interests and will contribute to the achievement of their common objectives, as well asenhance their global position".
Minister Aljadaan also participated in the Joint Meeting of the GCC Finance Ministers and Central Bank Governors, along with the Managing Director of the IMF, to discuss economic prospects and political challenges facing the GCC in 2024.
During the meeting, Minister Aljadaan said that each GCC country has different economic needs and plans, but we all face the common challenge of reducing our dependence on oil revenues, noting that Saudi Arabia has implemented financial reforms under Vision 2030 aimed at diversifying the economy and reducing our dependence on oil revenues. Similar initiatives are being implemented throughout the Gulf Cooperation Council.
The Minister also participated in the roundtable entitled "The Fund for the Future", which highlighted various visions of the major reforms to be implemented by the IMF in order to strengthen international economic cooperation, and to improve the financial and management structure of the Fund. They also discussed reforms to the IMFregulatory and supervisory frameworks, lending, and capacity development to provide optimal support to its members in the region and the rest of the world, and to strengthen its internal operations.
During the meeting, Minister Aljadaan highlighted the challenges facing the global economy, including increased geopolitical tensions and slowing global growth, noting therole of the IMF in collaboration with other financial institutions to mobilize multilateral international cooperation to overcome these challenges.
